The directors journey covers the entire process of directing a feature from script to screen, from concept to completion to film realisation. Directing a film is a complex network of collaborations, there is hundreds of artist who are involved in the film genesis and they are all led by the singular vision of a director. DIRECTOR AND THE SCRIPT: the script is the blueprint for a movie, the directors job is to read and interpret the screen play, I had to discover how a good director translates the written word to the visual element on the screen, analysing and read the script, discovering the true story, identifying key moments, finding additional visual elements, written assignment for one extra credit. DIRECTING THE EDIT: in the edit, the audiovisual material collected during the shot is reorganised to tell the story in the best way, as a trainee director I must thoroughly understand the editing process, time scale and project management explained, viewing rushes and making decisions, working with sound and music, live edit (Final cut pro) from last week rushes, written assignment for one extra credit.
