I am able to accept the responsibility of different and challenging tasks. And formulate great stories and creative ideas I have strong interpersonal skills and have a keen desire to learn, am extremely enthusiastic and constantly strive with passion to achieve an outstanding success. With multi skills as a Runner, Publicist, TRAINEE GRADUATE RUNNER, Producer, and ASST Director I had to book a variety of guest, in interviews, location and events, organising daily production dairy. Researching writing shooting scripts, liaising with agents and record company and PR companies to organise exclusive events, and help the human resources and personal dept in recruiting and selection process while treating every one equal. Problem Solving SEMINAR TOOLS/WORK EXPERIENCE: material suitable for me and the budget, what might sell and what wont, business plans, what financial structure to use, including limited partnerships, blue sky laws advertising restrictions, number of investors allowed, do you attach a star first, or after raising the money, understanding the industry standards 50/50 split between producers. And investors do get an attorney to advice you, and the payback of money to LP (multi-media demonstration, and word doc explaining it included on handout CD). Keep lots of money in reserve for music, post and for marketing PR. PREPARATION – PRE-PRODUCTION: everything starts with preproduction, choosing shoot format—pros /cons of HD, digital, super 16, 35 mm both in terms of shooting in each format and in posting each format and affect on selling film, Develop a shooting script, your self and script for pre-production, script break down and scheduling (multi –media presentation of breaking down a script and sample call sheets and schedules included on handout CD) Finding –a cast director in preparation for casting, developing the directors vision, selecting the creative team, working with the writer, reading the script, checking an actor’s value, making offers, Getting to actors handling auditions interview and casting, rehearsal technique, actors as the prime story-tellers, working with actors, developing the ensemble, finding the best cast, finalizing your cast, finding extras (multi-media presentation of table weighing actors values and sample offer letters and extra releases included in hand out CD). EQUITY: issues. Experiment versus limited exhibition versus modified low budget versus low budget, down side of doing experimental –need permission to distribute. Down side to limit ex-have to upgrade to higher film class. Making sure you follow SAG rules like green rooms and reports to SAG. (SAG contract info included in handout CD) hiring my crew (DP, hair/make up, costumes, script supervisor, 1st AD, line producer, etc) finding locations, what are the best locations? F/x, stunts, special equipment, planning a head for F/X stunt, and special equipment needs (a/v: clips from movies Kurt has worked on, how we planned for them, specially, time shifters) how to but stunt from old movies, shooting schedule – developing a shooting schedule with line producer, shooting day for night and night for day, planning for meals and production moves planning ahead for weather or location problems, deciding between 5 and 6 day weeks, story –boarding- pros and cons how to best use, running pre- production meetings, coordinating all departments, rehearsals- rehearsing with actors, establishing relationship with actors, anticipating actors problems, pay roll- use a payroll service, insurance ,set it all up now, except errors and omissions. Make sure you clear everything, food/catering, equipment rental. A TRAINEE GRADUIATE DIRECTOR: you are the centre of a team of actors, writers, designers, producers, cameramen, special effects co-ordinators, editors and composers. The directors journey covers the entire process of directing a feature from script to screen, from concept to completion to film realisation. Directing a film is a complex network of collaborations, there is hundreds of artist who are involved in the film genesis and they are all led by the singular vision of a director. DIRECTOR AND THE SCRIPT: the script is the blueprint for a movie, the directors job is to read and interpret the screen play, I had to discover how a good director translates the written word to the visual element on the screen, analysing and read the script, discovering the true story, identifying key moments, finding additional visual elements, written assignment for one extra credit. DIRECTOR AND REHEARSAL: as a trainee director challenge is to communicate my vision to the cast, learn to run a rehearsal and create mod, atmosphere and tension by inspiring the actors and using the tool of staging. E.g. how the actors work, creating characters for the screen, tools of communicating with actors, rehearsal process and staging, written assignment for one extra credit, THE GRAMMAR OF DIRECTING: as a trainee director I had to learn how to use a variety of shots and lenses to compose the scenes and create a vocabulary of cinematic techniques and processes. I had to also learn the don’ts and do s of film grammar, the actor and the camera, framing, placement and techniques, composition, storyboarding as a directing tool, DIRECTING THE SHOOT: using professional actors and a DV camera, a short scene will be shot to demonstrate the techniques used by professionals, protocol on the set, basic camera functionally explained, lenses, lighting and movement, shooting for the edit and analysing rushes, written assignment for one extra credit. DIRECTING THE EDIT: in the edit, the audiovisual material collected during the shot is reorganised to tell the story in the best way, as a trainee director I must thoroughly understand the editing process, time scale and project management explained, viewing rushes and making decisions, working with sound and music, live edit (Final cut pro) from last week rushes, written assignment for one extra credit. I had to learn how to communicate which inspires challenges and supports each artist will determine the quality and integrity of the final product. And that will enhance and broaden your directing skills and help me deliver powerful performances and well-conceived cohesive films. Over 300 hours trainee commercial production and directing with innovation, development, product placement, preparing my self physically and mentally, keeping healthy during production, etc, the first day –how to chose what to shoot first, and how to immediately command the respect of the cast and crew, technical problems and appreciating sound now, script problems and appreciating sound now, script problems- how to handle them, difficult actors – how to handle them, how to use my crew to help handle them, difficult crew members – how to handle them, when to cut bait, location changes- how to handle them, plan for them, weather problems- how to handle them, how to plan for them, how to keep a crew motivated-dealing with week 3 blues. PRODUCTION AND POST PRODUCTION: the process of production, directors prep for production, controlling the set, high speed directing, maintaining the vision, bracketing, coverage, lenses, angles, the deconstruction process, the reconsideration process, preparing for post-production, controlling the editorial team, deconstruction in post –production, choosing an editor, how to edit- how to choose the right take, where to cut in and out of a scene, why we advocate having the editing system in your house for months, and why you need to get input after long breaks away from it in music I have to learn how to spend the money, by getting a good music, and how to find good music for cheap, cheap, cheap (music release included on handout CD) Choosing a composer and getting the music you want and clearing it (handout clearance forms (music releases included on handout CD) choosing an audio mixer and getting the sound you want. COPY RIGHT ISSUES, in entertainment contract Create great collateral material (and have the funds to do it), selecting film festivals/markets responsibly- and why you need mostly to purse film markets, finding and using an exclusive PR a well-known PR firm for your film, distributor screenings, and what to do on a film festival. NEGOTIATING YOUR DISTRIBUTION DEAL what are the deals like? what should you ask for? What do you want? Theatrical versus straight to video, why theatrical helps your career, but why straight to video might make more money? What you will owe the distributor and when they will pay. 20/02/01 Trainee Actor, Producer/Director AND PR: Hollywood Santa Monica, -media Bridge, and Rain dance MASTER CLASSES Contact: email or post /you can contact me on 07963050509 Credits and Employment History PRODUCER FILMS CURRENT 22 x 50' science and natural history series for FILM Assistant DIRECTOR work placement 2002-H-HOLLYWOOD 15 x 30' OB docs about the news in entertainment.
